PET COKE
PET COKE
Our firm is involved in presenting our clients with a wide collection of Petroleum Pet coke, which we trade and supply for our esteemed clients. We present several ranges of Pet Coke. These are highly demand for their superb quality and consistent efficiency.
PET COKE is produced from heavy residues by Coker units in refineries. Pet Coke is a high calorific value, high sulphur, low volatile fraction fuel. It is cheaper than many fuels on a calorific basis. Raw or green Pet Coke is formed from the Coker unit. Raw Pet Coke with higher metal & Sulphur content can be used as a fuel and this is called fuel grade Pet Coke. Pet Coke is a relatively new fuel in the Indian market. Pet Coke supply and demand are increasing at a high rate. Pet Coke demand in India is expected to be robust due to its competitive cost and better availability compared to Coal.
GREEN PET COKE
Green petroleum coke is obtained from processing liquid fractions in Delayed Coking Units (UCR). It is a material with high fixed carbon content comprising hydrocarbons and low levels of inorganic compounds. Its appearance is that of a bulk composed of solid black fragments, and the term "green" in its name refers to the stage of its production process.
The green petroleum coke produced in our refineries has as its main differential its low sulfur content, rare worldwide, and a product with higher value added and lower environmental impact.
Our refineries produce two types of green coke, distinguished per anode grade or metallurgical grade.
Anode grade coke is an essential input to obtain calcined coke, which is used to manufacture anodes to produce aluminum or titanium dioxide.
Steel grade coke, meanwhile, is used as a reducing agent in iron and steel metallurgy, and serves the pelletizing and carbide production segments; additionally, it is used to obtain lime and for other industrial applications.

Benefits of Fuel grade Pet Coke over coal:
-
Petcoke is a direct replacement of coal as a fuel but has higher calorific value (>7800Kcal/Kg as compared to 3500-4500 Kcal/Kg for coal).
-
Petcoke is hydrophobic as compared to coal which is hydrophilic, thereby having edge during rainy season.
-
Being solid fuel, Petcoke has low volatile matter thus no evaporation losses. Helps saving in transportation cost due to higher density compared to liquid fuels.
-
Low ash content.
